The Bell Witch
The Bell Witch seemed like a fun spooky paranormal subject to talk about this week. The Bell Witch is a legend that originated in 1817 near Adams, Tennessee. I'll go through the history and legend of this famous 'witch' haunting and what my thoughts on the whole thing are. I may listen to too many true crime podcasts, but I smell something foul in this story for sure!

Witch Chat - With Male Identifying Witches

I wanted to do this because I find myself correcting my language as I speak to groups in our witch community and am trying to be inclusive with my words. It's something I will fail at from time to time but I am trying to do better.

Solar Magick And Discernment With Spiritual Encounters
All too often I forget that balance creates a sort of harmony in my magickal practice and I leave out the Sun in my craft. I wanted to talk about solar magick and how it can be used.
Before we get into that I’d like to take just a moment to address something that is a prominent subject in the spiritual and witchy communities lately due to all the chaos; discernment with spirits, spirit guides, and other things that go bump in the night. This will probably piss people off and that’s ok, but not all spirits that come to you are what they seem to be. I’m not saying this to scare you or to be some sort of gatekeeper. I’m saying this to help you keep yourself safe. If someone ever tells you not to put up protection when doing witchcraft or any sort of energetic work then I would feel very cautious about interacting with them. Ask yourself this; what ‘bad’ could come from putting up boundaries? And this, what good could come from not putting those boundaries up? How could that benefit others? See what I’m getting at?

At the moment our country is a dumpster fire, complete fucking shit show. It is hopefully our Tower moment where everything metaphorically tumbles down and we can rebuild our country and leave behind all the old bullshit narratives and be better human beings. Not going to hold my breath, but hoping.
So what would be crazier than a pandemic, the west side of our country perpetually on fire, hurricanes and tropical storms, and a volatile election? Let’s lump Mars in Retrograde over top of that disaster soup!

Terminology In Our Witchy Community
We, humans, love to put a label on things and make everything fit nicely in its perspective metaphorical box. We label everything from how we dress; goth, preppy, trendy, etc. Spirituality is no different. Normally I loathe labels, but sometimes they do serve a purpose. In spirituality, it can assist in understanding what each of our perspectives is in relationship to spirituality.
I thought that in this episode I’d talk about labels. Our WW Coven members and I talked about this in one of the classes because learning the lingo is important when conversing with individuals in the spiritual community.

Moon Magic Basics
One of the centers of many spiritual practices is honoring the cycles of the moon. She affects the Earth and its inhabitants in many beautiful ways; the tides of the ocean, reproductive cycles of female animals, hormone levels of humans, and so many other amazing things. It makes sense that we honor her in our spiritual practices. Of course, you don’t have to at all. What you include in your spiritual practice or don’t include, is your prerogative. But since questions about the moon and it’s cycles are a popular question I get I thought we could talk about it here.

Gerald Gardner Was A Dbag
Sorry not sorry, he really was a dbag. I recognize the good that he did for Wicca and paganism information being distributed to the US and around the world but OMG he was a sexist pig. If you've read just a few of his 161 stinkin rules for his Wicca then you know he is a dbag. BUT...we do need to give him a little credit for being an outspoken ego maniac that had Wiccan and esoteric information published in papers and books so that others could learn an develop their own practice of Wicca or whatever flavor you like.
